November 13, 2008

A few things from my yard. These are the cactus we found growing in the front lawn, and the roses are from some bushes by the front door. At least they were by the front door. They might be if they come back, but I cut these particular ones down to the ground the other day. They were driving me nuts. There were 2 different plants basically in the same spot and neither of them was a decent looking plant. I left the one on the other side of the walkway for now.

The morning started off really well today. It was kind of chilly this morning, but we all managed to get up and dressed and fed in time to visit one of the local libraries for storytime. (Above picture) The kids love it. We picked up a few books and a video before heading home. Then after the quick video, the kids decided it was time to play with Jack. Or maybe Jack decided it was time for them to play with him. Not really sure. It could be either these days. In fact, we were just having problems this evening because Kaleb had school work to finish up and Jack kept coming in trying to get him to play.

Jack really likes the trampoline it seems. He is definitely making up now with puppy-ish behavior for being so sick in October. I finally managed to get his kennel to where he can't get out. It took 4 padlocks to do it, but it is working, at least for now. Today when I got home with the kids from the library, the door was a bit bent on the bottom and the black covering has been about stripped from the metal bars. I thought I would get some pictures of them all playing in the backyard, though. I have to admit that the kids really have a wonderful time with this dog. Poor Benny was just getting too old to play with them the way that Jack can.

I went and bought myself a new day planner today. I still love the one I have been using, but it just isn't working the way I needed it to anymore. I realized that I keep having to switch back and forth between 3 different planners. A day and month planner, a planner for Kaleb's school work, and then a planner that breaks the days up into hours. It was really getting frustrating and making me want to burn something. So, today I grabbed my last 2 remaining $3 off coupons for Office Depot and found a nice big planner in which I can consolidate. I sat down when I got home to plan out a few weeks in it to see if I liked the new planner and realized that it is perfect so far. It is a blessed dream compared to what I was trying to do in the others. No more fighting to make it work for me. It did right from the start.

There is a big playday planned out at Barb's house in Ballinger on Saturday. Paint Ball, bonfire, potluck dinner and all that. I planned on taking the kids out to see everyone. They don't really do these get togethers all that often and I don't know when we might get to see everyone together again. I know I plan on going to Nola's for thanksgiving, but I don't think everyone else will be there. Maybe a few. I never did make the apple crisp the other day. I got the apples all out and started getting things ready, then decided to wait and make it for Saturday. Mainly because I have no idea what else to bring. Well, the house is a mess and I need to start prepping kids for bed.
