Well, I finally have a new camera. DJ took me to the store and let me pick one out that I really liked. He is going to be taking the old one with him. It was so finiky that I wanted to beat it with a hammer sometimes. The flash NEVER worked when I needed it to, or even the way it was supposed to. Well, he won't need a flash in Iraq, now will he? We also picked up a new treadmill. DJ says he is going to use it, but we shall see. I know I can't wait to play with it. Heh.
If you are interested in what I am changing about the website, I am no longer going to use it for the intent of sharing with the rest of the family. To be honest, I don't know if anyone even bothers right now anyway. So, I am going to use it for DJ. When he is in Iraq, I will be posting pictures and letters and such on here so that he has an quick and easily accessible place to go to stay in touch with us and our day to day lives while he is gone. How does that effect everyone else? Well, you just might not be interested in the mundane day to day stuff. There will probably be lots of pictures of odd stuff that will make you think..."why in the world did she put a picture of THAT on here?" The answer is, because it isn't for you, that's why. If you are still interested, this will be the best place to see how everyone is doing.
We have a few changes around the house also. We have a new fish. Kaleb has been asking for a fish for a while, so for his birthday we went ahead and got him one. A deep wine-red colored betta that Kaleb named "Jazz". He loves his fish so far and was more than glad to take on the chore of feeding him. Unfortunately, Alex has also been a little overzealous about trying to feed the fish. The first day we had him I spent quite a while trying to pick out all of the popcorn that she threw in his tank. I guess she thought she was sharing.

For quite a while now, Kaleb and Alex have been sharing a bedroom. That is about to change. We have decided that some of Kaleb's needs as a growing little boy dictate the need for privacy. We haven't really started seperating the rooms yet, but I have started thinking about picking up a new bed for Alex. She is currently sleeping in the crib as a day bed. It is working okay at the moment, but probably won't for long. I have been wanting to get her a new bed anyway. Over the weekend while we were out shopping and looking around for other things, I saw some bunkbeds and realized that picking up one of those could be perfect. They have the ones with the futon set-ups on the bottom that I am thinking about. I have wanted to have a spare bed of some sort around for when company comes by, and this would solve both problems.
School-wise, we ended up doing some things through the summer. I think year-round schooling is going to become a norm for us here. There really isn't much else that we seem to want to do during the hot summers, so we stay in and work on school related stuff. Then come what is the normal public school school-year, we tend to be out and about all over the place. The last 2 years we spent most of the spring putting in the vegetable gardens and just generally enjoying the weather, and then come the fall and winter we are off visiting people or some such. Anyways, we will have a small break here in July and then I want to get started with next years material ASAP in August that way we get done what we can before DJ has to leave. Obviously we are going to want to spend that time with him, NOT on school work.
