Well, we opened the "daddy" bags for the first time Sunday night. I decided that the kids should have their bears right from the start in case they decided they wanted to sleep with them at night. Kaleb has decided to sleep with his. Alex still does not like sleeping with anything. Blankets included. Everything gets kicked or thrown off of the bed. She did alright Sun. night. She even went to bed in her own bed without much fuss. Kaleb did not have such a good night that night. He woke up several times during the night crying from really bad dreams. Something he hasn't done in a long time. Last night (Monday night) was just the opposite. A rough night with Alex. She must have finally noticed because she started asking me where daddy was, and then asked "where daddy working?" She yelled and cried a little at bed time, but I sat beside her bed with her until she calmed down and fell asleep.

Yesterday, we took a trip to the store. I had a coupon for a free tennis ball from the pet store, so we went and got that for Jack, and then went to the grocery store for some odds and ends including pad locks. I actually have to pad lock the kennel closed to keep Jack in. He is like Houdini or something. Hopefully, he will stop tearing things up, like my garden, when he gets out of his puppy stage. I can handle a few other things, but digging in the garden is like treading on my sacred territory or something. Grrr. There is a short fence up around it now though, that I think he is already starting to understand means "STAY THE *@#! OUT!"

I was hoping that the lawn service we just started would be able to show up today and do the yard, but it has been raining off and on for the last 2 days and I don't know if they will still be coming. The gentleman I spoke to said they would call if they couldn't make it out today because of weather, so we will see. Can't say that I am not happy about the rain. It has been SOO dry. Just kind of an inconvenient time.
So, with the rain, we are stuck indoors even more than usual. I took the pop up tents out for the kids to play in. If Kaleb ever decides to finish his school work today, he might actually get to play in them. But it seems he would rather sit and stick pencils through the holes in one of the little blue buckets than play in the tents. Oh well. His choice. Alex is doing so great with potty trainging right now. It seems we still have about 1 accident each day, but that is better than all day long.
I am going to go bake. We still have so many apples left in the refrigerator, that I decided today would be a good day to make some apple crisp. And since it is cold and rainy out, I guess that makes it an even better day for warm apple crisp. Don't plan on doing much else for the next few days. I spent yesterday mostly working on planning out some more school work and updating various calendars around the house. Today I am cleaning out the office some and I am going to do a few more things outside in the garden area during one of these times that the rain lets up. My mom asked for a few of our oh-so-over-abundant strawberry plants. I am going to cut some runners and pot them to take with us for Christmas. Guess I will get off to doing that now.
